Massage

Massage combines various movements to manipulate soft tissues of the body to attain health benefits - Massage therapy dates back thousands of years and its medical benefits are increasingly recognised.
Our Massage is offered to you by our experienced practitioner Sara Branch. Sara works alongside her osteopathic collegues here at the Stamford Osteopathic Clinic and will devise the best form of massage programme for you, that fits in with your requirements.

Remedial/ Therapeutic Massage
Uses mostly gentle flowing strokes, with the emphasis on cultivating a calm and a reduced stressed state for the body. This leaves the body refreshed and calm.

Deep Tissue Massage
This type of massage focuses on treating deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It can be helpful for chronic aches and pains. i.e. stiff necks, shoulders, backs and tired legs.

Sports Massage
Can be helpful in the treatment and prevention of sport injuries. The massage therapist has a broader, more medical knowledge. It is helpful when preparing a person for athletic activity and helpful in the recovery of the body from excess activity, such as work outs and long walks, run as well as recovery for injuries.

Massage is thought to help aid recovery from injuries, relieve aches and pains, reduce stiffness and improve mobility. This therapy can help in reducing stress and may aid in a deeper relaxation of the body and mind. Due to the increased demand for Massage at our Clinic, and due to the success of our massage therapy provision in the past, we have decided to reintroduce our Massage Facility. At your consultation, your therapist will begin by listening to your specific requirements. They will take a detailed case history. And then suggest how they might approach the massage session in order to best meet your specific needs. Your treatment can last up to an hour. However, we allow plenty of time for change overs and so one does not feel rushed. Every massage is tailored to the client, because every client is different. Whether you have problems with specific areas of tension, seek relaxation or need invigorating, your treatment will be unique to you. Your personalised massage uses a range of techniques, depending on your particular aches, pains and needs;

DEEP TISSUE: using compression and friction to work on the deepest part of the muscles, relieving pain and tension.

TRIGGER POINT: working on specific areas releasing tension and pain across a group of muscles.

STRETCHING: a gentle style used to return contracted muscles to their correct length, improving posture and alleviating soreness.

RELAXING: using a lighter massage style, muscles are soothed, your body is relaxed and your mind is cleared. We offer Massage on Mondays & Thursdays 2pm-8pm, Cost = 50 for 1hour.

Gift Vouchers are available.
