Midwifery

I am a NMC registered degree educated Midwife  with over 30 years experience in midwifery practice. For the last 20 years I have been working in the community setting providing high quality evidenced based  care to women throughout pregnancy. I currently work in the hospital and community setting. I am passionate about the health and well being of women and their babies.

Midwives work with woman, educate, support and empower them to make choices about their pregnancy and birth. Current available evidence demonstrates that midwifery support promotes a happier healthier positive  pregnancy/birth experience.

The midwifery clinic provides a one to one woman centred session taking the time to discuss your needs. Following this discussion and assessment we can plan a solution together.

I can support you discussing any pregnancy concerns and liaise with your NHS Midwife if needed. I work in collaboration with my osteopathic colleagues and can refer you to them if necessary. For example pelvic mobility issues  require the expertise of an osteopath to resolve.

I can provide one to one antenatal education to help you plan for your birth experience. I am also available to discuss any issues you may have following your birth this may relate to yourself or baby.

I work in collaboration with paediatric osteopathic colleagues to address any feeding issues you may be experiencing. The paediatric osteopaths can help resolve any anatomical concerns  evident from the birth. I can complement this treatment by providing support and advice  with the practicalities of feeding positioning and attachment.

Midwifery sessions are carried out regulary every Wednesday and Saturday. Please call for full details.

Mothers and babies can both benefit from osteopathic treatment.
